Influencer ‘Kamal Kaur Bhabhi’ found dead in parked car in Bathinda; Police suspect murder

The body of social media influencer Kamal Kaur, also known as Kanchan Kumari, was found inside a parked car at Adesh Medical University in Bathinda on Wednesday evening. The car, which was emitting a strong foul smell, drew attention from nearby individuals who then alerted the police. Officers discovered the woman’s decomposed body in the rear seat and confirmed her identity through documents and vehicle registration.

Kamal Kaur was a 30-year-old resident of Lachman Colony in Ludhiana. She was known online by the name ‘Kamal Kaur Bhabhi’ and had a verified Instagram account with more than 3.83 lakh followers and 1,351 posts. She was also active on other platforms and gained attention for her regular video content. A few months ago, she had been criticised by an overseas-based gangster for allegedly using objectionable language in her posts.

According to police, preliminary findings suggest the influencer may have been murdered at another location before her body was brought to the parking lot of the hospital. The vehicle in which her body was found is registered in Ludhiana district. The exact time and cause of death are yet to be determined. Due to the advanced stage of decomposition, visible injuries could not be immediately confirmed.

Superintendent of Police (City) Narinder Singh stated, “The victim’s family has been informed. Preliminary information suggests she left Ludhiana on June 9 for a promotional event in Bathinda and subsequently lost contact with her family. Further legal action will be taken based on their statements.” The body was sent to Shaheed Bhai Mani Singh Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Bathinda SSP Amneet Kondal confirmed that a forensic team was called to the scene to collect evidence. “Prima facie, there seems to be something suspicious. We are treating this as a case of murder and an FIR is being registered accordingly,” she said. Investigation is ongoing to determine the motive and identify the individuals involved.
